Actually, it's a pretty logical question. Up until just a few years ago (as in mid 1990's), the majority of non-Harley motorcycles had 7/8" bars. As far as I can determine, the Savage has always run a 1" bar for the U.S. market. And if you are looking to switch bars, get pre-2000 model Harley bars, post 2000 style bars are somewhat oval instead of true round. I used the later bars on my Savage and had to grind all the bar hardware to make it work.
